Upcoming Safety and Training Classes

Plans Reading ~ Saturday, January 13 ~ 8 am to 1 pm (Yavapai Title)
This class teaches employees that are new to the industry or have limited experience about plan specifications. This class will provide a basic overview of how to read and interpret plans, both for ADOT and other non-ADOT work, including residential and commercial civil work. You will also learn how the specifications are labeled and where to find and interpret Y.A.G., M.A.G., and ADOT Standard Details. NOTE: This class will only be taught one time this year.

Operator/Equipment Safety Training ~ Saturday, January 20 ~ 9:30 am to 3:30 pm (Field)
This one-day training will be held at the Granite Dells Estate Project. This class entails all aspects of equipment safety, inspecting, parking, correct start up and shut down, what the different controls operate and more. Attendees will be on equipment, so they must come dressed as if working (i.e., vest, hard hat, safety glasses and boots). Class size is limited to 15. Note: If you attend this training and have equipment keys, please bring them to class with you. Also, please note that this class may only be taught once this year, depending upon class enrollees, local jobs working and equipment available. If interested or required to take this training, please enroll NOW.

Silica Rule Training ~ Saturday, January 27 ~ 8 am to 11:30 am (Yavapai Title)
This class goes through all the requirements of OSHA's new Construction Rule for Respirable Crystalline Silica that became enforceable 10/23/17. This class covers employee training requirements, the hazards and health effects of working around silica containing materials, how to reduce and avoid exposure, new task requirements found in OSHA's Table 1 for almost all the construction tasks that we perform, employee exposure assessment and medical surveillance requirements and other requirements found in the new Rule. This class meets the minimum training requirements for any employee who is designated as the "Silica Competent Person" on a project
