Upcoming Safety and Training Classes

*DDC 4 Defensive Driving Class ~ Saturday, July 22 ~ 8 am to 12:30 pm (Yavapai Title)
This class teaches participants defensive driving techniques to help them become safer drivers and what actions can contribute or lead to accidents and how to avoid them; safe and unsafe driving behaviors; and how looking and planning ahead can help reduce one's chances of having an accident. This class is required for all employees that drive or may drive a company vehicle at some point, which is almost every employee. This class is a nationally recognized National Safety Council defensive driving class. Most car insurance companies offer discounts up to 20% for all drivers/policyholders that have taken this class. Fann allows employees to enroll their spouses and teenage drivers in this class, when space is available, for a nominal fee. It is best to check with your insurance company first, as requirements vary amongst companies.

Forklift Training ~ Saturday, July 29 ~ 8 am to 12 pm (Fann Shop)
This class consists of 3 hours of classroom training and a field skills test for the experienced forklift/operator. You must be experienced in operating a forklift in order to take this class. The operator will be tested on his/her ability to operate the specific forklift he/she will be assigned to operate. This class is for all employees who operate a forklift, including loaders with fork attachments. Attendance is limited and is on a first come, first-served basis. Note: It is mandatory that you carry your forklift training card with you whenever you operate a forklift and you must be re-evaluated every 3 years for the field skills test only, not the classroom portion.

*OSHA 10-Hour Class ~ Saturday, August 5 AND Saturday, August 12 ~ 8 am to 2 pm (Yavapai Title)
Training in the OSHA standards and hazard recognition for the construction industry. This is a mandatory class for all Fann Contracting employees and must be taken within the first 90 days of employment. Participants receive a wallet card designating them as OSHA 10 hour trained. Note: This class is split into two 5-hour classes and you must attend BOTH classes to get your certificate.
